Man, 45, found dead at Travelodge hotel as police appeal to trace family

Police have issued an appeal for help to track down the loved ones of a man who was tragically found dead at a Travelodge hotel in Manchester city centre.

Officers have identified the man as Colin McGiffin. The 45-year-old was sadly found away in the Great Ancoats Street hotel last Friday (November 10).

He was living at an address on Crossley Court in Ancoats, police said. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. An appeal posted on the GMP city centre Facebook page today said: "#APPEAL | Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace the family of a man who was living in the Ancoats area of Greater Manchester. "Colin McGiffin (45) was found passed away at the Travel Lodge Hotel on Great Ancoats Street in Manchester on 10 November 2023 .
