‘Derry Girls’, ‘Vir Das: Landing’ & ‘The Empress’ Land Top Awards At 2023 International Emmys

Derry Girls from the U.K. and Vir Das: Landing from India tied in the Comedy category taking the prize. Germany’s The Empress won in the Drama series category.
Karla Souza took the award in the Best Performance by an Actress category for her work in La Caída, while The Responder’s Martin Freeman took the award in the Best Performance by an Actor category.
The special Founders Emmy® was presented to Jesse Armstrong, creator of the hit HBO show “Succession” by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content. “In a tumultuous time, television again proves to be a common denominator for people around the world,” said International Academy President & CEO Bruce L.
