Loch Ken Trust is promoting water safety awareness with a free family fun day. The issue has always been a top priority for the trust and was recently brought into sharp focus after the death of a man who got into trouble while swimming.
The fun day on Saturday, July 22, will take place next to Loch Ken Holiday Park. Those attending include the Fire Service’s water safety team, Galloway Mountain Rescue and Nith Inshore Rescue.
Loch Ken ranger, Leanne Pumpr, said: “We are looking forward to an exciting day of activities and demonstrations. It should be great fun for all the family, so come on down to Loch Ken on July 22.
We’re looking forward to seeing you.” The event, which will run from 11am to 3pm, will feature rescue demonstrations, appliance displays, safety advice, children’s activities and a barbecue.
