Some Lanarkshire parents and guardians need to update their details to ensure Child Benefit payments will continue after an upcoming deadline on August 31.This affects people with a child aged 16 who had stayed in education or training, but has since left or due to leave this month.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) guidance on GOV.UK explains that Child Benefit payments will continue until the first of four specific dates throughout the year is reached after their 16th birthday - the next one on the calendar is Thursday, August 31.
