Kate Middleton and Prince William Release an Emotional Statement About the Southport Attack
glamour.comand have shared a poignant statement following a knife attack at a Taylor Swift–themed dance workshop in Southport.The Price and Princess of Wales released the emotional message hours after a teen with a knife killed three children and injured eight more during on July 29.Eight other children and two adults were injured following the attack in Southport, England.Posting on social media, the royals, who are parents to , and , wrote, “As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through.”“We send our love, thoughts and prayers to all those involved in this horrid and heinous attack.
Thank you also to the emergency responders who, despite being met with the most horrific scenes, demonstrated compassion and professionalism when your community needed you most.”Prince William and Kate Middleton went on to sign off their message, “W & C.”The king and queen also paid tribute to the families who lost children in the attack.It was a particularly poignant public statement from the couple, and perhaps emotionally charged given they are parents to three young children themselves.
The family have made few public appearance this year as Kate Middleton recovers from cancer, with the Princess of Wales recently alongside Princess Charlotte.The king and queen also joined the prince and princess in sharing their thoughts with those injured and killed in the attack.
