Joe Pickett will not return for a third season. Paramount+ has canceled the series, starring Michael Dorman, after two seasons.
The series was originally commissioned by Spectrum in early 2021, which announced prior to the debut of season two that it would be shutting down Spectrum Originals.
Paramount+ had the streaming rights to the series and seasons 1 and 2 will continue to be available on the service. Joe Pickett followed a dedicated game warden (Dorman) and his family as they navigated the shifting sociopolitical climate of a small rural town on the verge of economic collapse.
In the most recent second season, the Wyoming game warden, played by Dorman, discovers a hunter murdered in the mountains and realizes his is just one of a series of gruesome murders.
