It's not often that Manchester City do business in the January transfer window but you never can rule it out. Youngster Maximo Perrone's arrival from Velez Sarsfield was the only signing made in this year's winter window and though he was surprisingly involved in the first team he was hardly a major signing.

Injuries are already mounting up and Pep Guardiola may fancy adding some reinforcements to his squad. Midfield is especially light at present with Kevin De Bruyne a long-term absentee while Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes are currently sidelined as well.
