Dean Sullivan, actor in hit Channel 4 soap Brookside, has sadly died aged 68. His family and friends have now paid an emotional tribute to the star, best known for his great portrayal of Jimmy Corkhill in the programme, and confirmed his death.
A statement given from both Hamilton Management and Dean's family read: "To millions he was and very much still is remembered as 'Jimmy', to family and friends he was 'Dino'. "Dean's family wants to thank Arrowe Park Hospital for their unwavering and consistent support.
We ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief." It's thought that Dean was the longest-serving member of the Channel 4 soap Brookside - which stopped running in 2003 - and tributes have flooded in for the star.
Paying tribute to Dean's legacy on social media, one said: "I do love a soap icon, and they didn’t come more iconic than Jimmy Corkhill.
