Job losses expected in Lanarkshire as Scots clothing chain announces store closures

Scots clothing chain M&Co has announced that it will be closing all of its 170 stores across the UK after failing to secure a buyer after falling into administration.The Renfrewshire based clothing company, formerly known as Mackays, appointed administrators at the start of December 2021 after being put up for sale for the second time in two years.The retailer has since announced on social media that it will be closing the doors to all of its stores this spring, including its 45 branches in Scotland, in a move that will result in nearly 2,000 job losses.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
