There’s not long left to enter the Scottish Education Awards - so if you know of a trailblazer in education worthy of being celebrated, we want to hear about it. Every day, educators across Scotland give their all to provide learning that is innovative, engaging and fruitful - and this year’s awards theme is centred around showing appreciation for that dedicated work that goes on daily.

From early learning institutions to outstanding teachers to innovative curriculums - there’s a wide range of ways in which Scottish education is enriched, and we want to celebrate all of them.The awards, in partnership with the Daily Record and Education Scotland, will be held on June 7 in Glasgow.

A broad range of categories will be rewarded in a day of entertainment and celebration, so if you know an educator who goes above and beyond every day, get your nomination in today so that they can be a part of it.Last year’s winner of the Making a Difference (Primary) Award winner was Netherburn Primary School in South Lanarkshire.Netherburn championed a ‘Reading for Pleasure’ initiative, designed to widen community access to reading and make it more accessible.

It’s a project that, last year, scooped them not just the Scottish Education Awards trophy, but also a Pearson UK Teaching Award.The school launched the initiative after finding out that 90% of local adults didn’t use the local library due to the cost of getting there.
