GMP issues warning after police car smashed up on Greater Manchester street

A Greater Manchester Police car has been taken off the road after having two windows smashed up in Salford. Images have been shared on social media today (April 26) of a Peugeot 308 in GMP livery, parked up on Woodland Grange, in Worsley.

Both the car's windscreen and rear window can be seen completely trashed. GMP says it was the result of a 'mindless act of criminal damage'.

The car had to be taken away for repairs, which also took the officer away from his duties, GMP says. But the force has issued a warning to the person who was responsible. And the net could soon close in on the person responsible - as GMP has hinted that the incident was caught on camera. A spokesperson for GMP Traffic posted on X (formerly Twitter): "[Vehicle] off to the workshop for a mindless act of criminal damage.
