ITV chef James Martin was left red-faced as he received a telling-off on-air from guest culinary expert Dipna Anand. Dipna, alongside her father, joined the show to prepare their family's iconic palak chicken, a Punjabi recipe passed down from her grandfather who served it in his 1950s Kenyan eatery.

However, things didn't go smoothly when James mispronounced the dish's name and was chided for being "too slow" with his stirring.

The recipe called for a raw chicken to be meticulously cut into 28 pieces, including ribs and thighs. James struggled with the pronunciation of "palak" and overdid it with the butter, prompting Dipna to reprimand him.

He queried: "What have I done?" to which she tersely responded: "Nothing," but James sensed her dissatisfaction, pressing further: "You look disappointed," reports the Express.
