BBC Breakfast's sports presenter, Hugh Ferris, issued an apology to hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt on Saturday after a conversation with Olympic Gold medallists Emily Craig and Imogen Grant.
The apology followed a discussion where Charlie told Emily and Imogen they would "forever be the reigning champions" of their Olympic event, leading to light-hearted banter about it becoming a pub quiz question.
Naga humorously suggested it might be a question they'd get right before Charlie asked Hugh if he was paying attention. Hugh responded that he often failed at pub quizzes but would ensure to include a question about Emily and Imogen.
As the hosts thanked their guests, Naga addressed Hugh, who then shifted focus to the latest sports news, mentioning the 14 gold medals up for discussion, reports the Express.
