ITV The Voice UK viewers 'had to turn off' just minutes into new series and say 'it hurt'

The Voice UK returned to screens for its latest series but within minutes some said they 'had to turn off'. The ITV singing competition was back on Saturday night (November 4) with Olly Murs, Anne-Marie, Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.Am back in the big red chairs.

While Emma Willis was back as host, there has been a big change to the competition. For the first time, the primetime show will welcome the addition of groups to the contest - which usually sees singers perform to a panel of celebrity judges who are blind to the talent's appearance.

However, true to its usual form, The Voice couldn't have four famous singers in one place and not let them perform together.

And so the first episode of the new series saw Olly, Ann-Marie, Sir Tom and Will sing their own rendition of Stairway to Heaven by rock band Led Zeppelin. However, as ever, not everyone agreed. @WestlifeDreams shared: "Great to have #TheVoice back.
