Census data shows which areas of England and Wales are the most densely populated - and all but one of the most crowded neighbourhoods are in London.
More people live in the affluent neighbourhood of Maida Hill in Westminster per square kilometre than anywhere else in England and Wales.
In that neighbourhood, the equivalent of 23,873 people live together on each square kilometre of land - which is the same as 170 people living cheek-by-jowl on a patch of land the same size as a football pitch.
Residents living in the nearby Church Street neighbourhood, also in Westminster, are almost as crowded with slightly fewer people per square km (23,792). At the other end of the spectrum, only five people live on each square kilometre of land in rural Bellingham, Otterburn & Redesdale, which is in the North East, within the Northumberland National Park.
