manchestereveningnews.co.ukBolton is set to celebrate King Charles III coronation in style with street parties being held across the borough. Patriotic residents have lodged applications for road-closure street parties with knees ups taking place everywhere from Kearsley in the south of the borough to Horwich and Blackrod in the north and all parts in between.
A total of 43 streets have applied for road closures which of which an handful have applied for a two day restriction. King Charles III’s coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6 with a service at Westminster Abbey.
For most, it will be the first time they have witnessed the coronation of a British monarch – the late Queen Elizabeth II having been crowned nearly 70 years ago. From 11am to 2pm, Bolton CVS will be hosting the ‘Volunteers Market’ where voluntary organisations and charities will profile their work and highlight opportunities for people to contribute to the local community.
