Bolton is set to celebrate King Charles III coronation in style with street parties being held across the borough. Patriotic residents have lodged applications for road-closure street parties with knees ups taking place everywhere from Kearsley in the south of the borough to Horwich and Blackrod in the north and all parts in between.

A total of 43 streets have applied for road closures which of which an handful have applied for a two day restriction. King Charles III’s coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6 with a service at Westminster Abbey.

For most, it will be the first time they have witnessed the coronation of a British monarch – the late Queen Elizabeth II having been crowned nearly 70 years ago.
