The Royal Family aren’t the only ones who have been busy in the lead up to the King’s Coronation, where the UK, and the rest of the world will see King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort crowned in an official ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Marks & Spencer’s, who are responsible for the iconic Colin the Caterpillar cake have also been prepping for the big day, and have even launched a one-off version of the sweet treat for the 6th May event.

Just two days ago, the major food retailers shared a social media post introducing King Colin the Caterpillar. Naturally, fans have since gone wild, and perhaps gotten even more excited for the Colination, rather than the actual Royal date. “To celebrate the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, we're SO excited to share our limited-edition Coronation Colin!” the store captioned the post on Twitter. “Who's going to be grabbing one of these ahead of the bank holiday weekend?!” While plenty of Colin lovers were seemingly quick to get their hands on one, social media giants and fellow food store Aldi decided to newsjack the conversation.

Which of course, led to many Twitter users losing it over the whole charade. “cancel the crowns CANCEL THE CROWNS” Aldi commented as they retweeted M&S’s post and shared it with their 680.6K followers.
