Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin has revealed he signed former Burnley kid Joe McGlynn following rave reviews from former Rangers and Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam.Rankin snapped up McGlynn on a permanent deal earlier this week to bolster his front line for the League One campaign and it comes after a glowing report from former Scotland star Adam, who is currently the loan manager at Burnley.McGlynn's arrival has finally come to fruition after a move fell through in January and he joined English National League North side Kiddieminster, while he was still contracted to The Clarets.The 23-year-old was released by the Turf Moor club this summer and has penned a deal, with a little help from Adam.Rankin said: "I spoke to Charlie Adam at length about Joe, as he had worked with him last season."He knows him personally and Charlie said it would be a no-brainer for us to go and get him."If Charlie is giving you advice on someone, you look at his clips and see Joe being a different type of player to what we've brought in so far, it was important for us to get him in."Charlie really sung his praises.
