The actor took to his own Instagram page to share an update with his fans about his recovery, after being silent on the matter since April. The 55-year-old's daughter first shared the news that her dad was receiving treatment three months ago but said that he was “already on his way to recovery." The health scare happened while the actor was filming the Netflix movie Back in Action in Atlanta.

Speaking to his Instagram follows in a selfie-video, the Baby Driver and Django Unchained star said: "First of all I want to say thank you to everybody that's prayed and sent me messages. "I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back.

I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. "I know a lot of people were waiting , or wanting to know updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that. "You know, I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show, I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through. "To be honest with you, my sister, my daughter, saved my life.
