First 'soft heatwave' of the year could be on the way days after yellow weather warning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds in parts of the country this week, with forecasters warning of some disruption on Tuesday and Wednesday where Greater Manchester could see wind gusts of up to 34mph.
But a meteorologist is predicting that the weather warning, which will be in effect from tomorrow afternoon (April 11) until Wednesday morning, will be short-lived and the country could see the first 'heatwave' of 2023 as temperatures rise at the weekend. Speaking to the Express, he explained: “We do get heatwaves in April, it does happen. It'll be a soft heatwave for the second half of April, it could get somewhere in the mid-20s pushing to May, in that general direction. "I can't be overly detailed at the moment, but the signs are there for this kind of change - it's when you see the charts going in that direction.
