Drunk thug caught with knife in Paisley narrowly avoids jail

A drunk thug who was caught with a large knife in his waistband has narrowly avoided jail time. Sean White called down a stranger who was walking his dog in Gallowhill and told him he was in danger.

The 28-year-old then showed the stranger – Mr Chalk – that he had a knife in his trousers.Both men walked into Paisley town centre and Mr Chalk was able to point White out to cops who were in the area.White, of Overtoun Road, Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, went on to tell cops he had the knife because he was “protecting himself”.

Procurator fiscal depute, Michael Cunningham told Paisley Sheriff Court: “About 12.30pm on March 11, Mr Chalk was walking his dog in the Gallowhill area.
