Suga of BTS has been booked by South Korean police for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated – the K-pop singer has issued an apology, which you can read below.In the early hours of Wednesday (August 7), the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that they had booked the BTS member for questioning after allegedly driving an electric scooter under the influence.According to the police – per Soompi – Suga, real name Min Yoon-gi, was booked on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act and is currently under investigation.Following the booking, BTS’ label Big Hit has issued a statement on the incident on Weverse – as transcribed by Soompi.
According to their post, the singer fell while riding his electric scooter for 500 meters, and was later given a breathalyzer test by a nearby police officer.
Big Hit also noted that Suga was wearing a helmet during the incident.Big Hit’s statement reads: “We apologize regarding BTS member Suga’s electric scooter accident.On the night of August 6 (Tuesday), Suga was on his way home in an intoxicated state, using an electric scooter while wearing a helmet.
He fell while parking after moving about 500 meters, and the police officer who was nearby conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in a fine and the cancellation of his license.
