It was yet another year of bonfire night carnage on the streets of Greater Manchester. After over 200 callouts in 2022, a stark warning was issued once again by the fire service ahead of this year's events.

But it still didn't stop scenes of chaos across the region, as fire crews were violently attacked with bricks, police pelted with fireworks, unofficial and unsafe bonfires were hosted, numerous blazes were started deliberately and others were left injured.

It is a night where families should be able to safely watch colourful and abundant fireworks exploding in the sky, twizzling sparklers and chomping on toffee apples - but for the emergency services it remains one of the busiest and most dangerous nights of the year.
