Police, fire crews and paramedics responded to a crash on a main road in Manchester city centre this afternoon. The crash, involving two cars, happened on Great Ancoats Street just after 12.30pm.

The road was closed off for a short time as emergency crews responded. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed no serious injuries were reported.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "At just after 12.30pm today (Friday, November 24) two fire engines from Manchester Central and Gorton fire stations along with the technical response unit from Ashton fire station attended a collision involving two cars on Great Ancoats Street, Manchester. "Firefighters assisted with first aid for two people involved in the crash and helped make the scene safe alongside colleagues from North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police.
