A beloved fish and chip shop has been 'gutted' after a fire ripped through it. The blaze broke out at The Seashell in Heaton Moor, Stockport, shortly before 4pm on Sunday (June 16).

Firefighters raced to the scene in Derby Range and managed to put out the flames. Pictures taken at the scene showed a fire engine outside the fish and chip shop, which one eyewitness described as having been left 'gutted' by the fire. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just before 4pm on Sunday (June 16) three fire engines from Manchester Central, Cheadle and Offerton fire stations were called to a fire involving a commercial premises on Derby Range, Heaton Moor. “Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and made the premises and adjoining properties safe.
