Good Morning Britain star Alex Beresford has revealed when the hottest temperatures of the year are going to strike Heatwave UK.

The star, famous for his on-air clash with Piers Morgan over Meghan Markle that saw the TV star quit the show, explained there’s a new high on the way - but it will be followed by rain.

Alex, 43, fronting the ITV weather forecast explained that we won’t have long to wait until peak sunbathing temperatures arrive.

He said: “It certainly has been feeling pretty hot out there, especially out towards the south east where it could get that bit hotter as we head through into Wednesday. “Yes on Wednesday afternoon we could see a daytime high of around 31C.That would make it the hottest day of the year so far again. “But as you can see temperatures do start to trail off to something a little more comfortable.
