BBC soap Doctors is to be taken off air for several months, sending fans of the medical drama into a frenzy.The long-standing series - which had it's origin in March 2000 and has since run every week for the last 23 years - has been removed from the broadcaster's schedule for the next few months, with the final episode having aired yesterday at 1.45pm.
A spokesperson for the popular TV soap - which sees staff at the Mill Health Centre and Campus Surgery saving the lives of their patients while balancing their turbulent personal lives - announced the same day that Doctors would be taking a break.
In a post delivered to social media, the BBC representatives explained: "Doctors will be off air and return to your screens on Monday 4th September.
In the meantime, Catch up on BBC iPlayer." Unhappy fans of the show have been quick to express their dissatisfaction with the explanation given by bosses at the channel, with several taking to Instagram to hit out.
