Dean Henderson has returned to Manchester United's training complex early to continue his rehabilitation from injury. Henderson, 26, has not played since January due to a thigh strain and had surgery last month.

Henderson could miss a chunk of pre-season but is expected to be fit for the start of the new season. The goalkeeper reported at Carrington for the first time since May 2022 as he was reluctant to train under new manager Erik ten Hag last June while negotiations to join Nottingham Forest on loan were at an advanced stage.

Forest have informed Henderson of their wish to sign him in a possible £30million deal and the England international is convinced he will make a permanent move to the City Ground. Lisandro Martinez also confirmed he is back at Carrington as he nears a recovery from a metatarsal fracture he sustained in the Europa League quarter-final draw with Sevilla in April.
