A huge banner advertising alcoholic drinks brand 'Voddy' has been erected on the railings of a primary school in Glasgow. An advert for booze company, which is also based in the city, appeared draped over the fence of Mount Florida primary school aiming to catch the attention of football fans travelling to Hampden to watch Sunday's Old Firm match.Residents have been left appalled by the move.

One local told Glasgow Live: "It's on the railings slap bang in the middle of the two entrances to the school. It's where a lot of parents park to pick up and drop off their kids, it's not an appropriate place at all."I work in retail and there's already an issue with the likes of elf bars being targeted to young people but this is just too far."It's a bright, colourful advert with a snappy name so of course it's going to catch the kids' attention.

I'm a former pupil myself and even if the company get a buzz around them for this they really shouldn't, it's not a way to do business."At first, the resident at first thought it was some kind of parody health warning about alcohol from the Scottish Government, but was horrified to discover what it really advertised. The local added: "I'm a former pupil myself and live really close by, it's just really disappointing.

I've emailed the school to make them aware but haven't heard back yet."If I had social media I would've shamed the business myself because that is just not on.
