'Catastrophe' avoided as cops make alarming discovery in raid where four children lived

Officers prevented a possible disaster as they discovered a dangerous situation at a home where four children lived. Greater Manchester Police raided a property in Trafford which was believed to have been used for the drugs trade.

After executing a warrant at the address in Timperley, officers discovered a small cannabis farm and class A drugs. But it was another discovery which appeared to be putting the children inside at serious risk.

An extension lead which was being used for the cannabis farm had such an 'excessive' current, that the socket being used was beginning to melt away.

In a post on social media today (March 7), GMP Trafford said the situation could have led to 'catastrophic' consequences. READ MORE: The huge derelict spot that will soon become Manchester's go-to venue A spokesperson for GMP Trafford South wrote: "As part of Trafford’s neighbourhood week of action, Team one with the assistance of the Neighbourhood Crime Team executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant at an address in Timperley.
