BBC Radio 2’s new weekday pop quiz Ten to the Top has sparked backlash as fans have taken to social media to brand the quiz "rubbish" with one adding that listening to it felt "excruciating." The new quiz was introduced as a replacement for the iconic Popmaster following the departure of Ken Bruce, who left the radio station after 31 years.

He has now moved to Greatest Hits Radio – and taken the hit concept with him. Ken is set to be replaced by Vernon Kay, with Gary Davies filling in before Vernon takes over.

On Monday (6 March) Gary introduced a new quiz element, Ten to the Top, which sees players asked 10 questions, with the first question worth one point, the second question worth two points, all the way up to 10.

If a question is answered incorrectly, the value of the following question goes back to one point and the accumulator begins again.
