Jeremy Kyle has sparked backlash after joking that Prince Harry should throw Meghan Markle "down a well" during a debate about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Talk quickly turned to Prince Harry's claim that he sees his book "like an act of service" to which Emily said: "If you really want to perform a service for charity, go to Lesotho, it is safe there. "Go and build wells, build a school and go and teach English..." In response to this, Jeremy quipped: "Throw [Meghan] down one." Viewers quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the comment, with many suggesting that the broadcaster may have taken it to far with his joke.
One wrote: "Advocating violence against a woman is NEVER a joke. #ToxicBritishMedia must stop!" and another added: "Another lovely man our country can be proud of.
