A veteran SNP MSP has urged Humza Yousaf to bin the Bute House Agreement before the Greens get a chance to.Christine Grahame called today for the First Minister to pull the plug on the powersharing deal as it was no longer in the interests of either party to continue. The MSP for Midlothian South claimed the priorities Scottish Greens were "very different from ours".Rank-and-file Green members are furious with the party leadership after the Scottish Government ditched a key climate target. The party will vote next month on whether to continue the deal with the SNP - but co-leader Patrick Harvie has pledged to resign if the result backs a separation.Grahame, first elected in 1999, said: "I think it’s run its course.
I’ve been here when we had a minority government and I think there’s such a divergence between what the Greens want and what the SNP are looking for."I think the divergence is too great now and it’s in the interests of neither party to continue.
So I’d be content if the SNP were to say ‘we’re going to work as a minority government’.”Asked by ITV Border whether she would advise Yousaf to pull out of the agreement, she added: "Oh yes.
I would prefer it to be us. I’ve preferred it to be us for quite a while."The priorities for the Greens are very different from ours.
