Two arrests as cops discover drugs and weapons stashed in car and bedroom

Two men have been arrested after police witnessed a drug deal in action while patrolling the streets of Trafford. Plain clothes officers were in the Quadrant area of Kings Road last night (June 6) when they witnessed the exchange take place between a group on foot and other people in a vehicle.

Greater Manchester Police says that as officers approached the vehicle, the occupants tried to make off, but they were stopped and detained.

Police searched the vehicle and found numerous snap bags of cannabis worth around £500, 10 snap bags of cocaine and £600 in cash.

A large metal spanner was also found in the driver-side door. Two men, aged 19 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community Officers went on to search the 19-year-old's home address, where they found two flick knives and one replica BB gun, which was hidden in the bedroom along with more class A drugs believed to be cocaine.
