Vicky McClure and Davina McCall get King's Birthday Honours

Vicky McClure and Davina McCall are among an array of stars to be named in this year's King's Birthday Honours list. After becoming a household name through her role as Kate Fleming in BBC's Line of Duty, McClure has been made an MBE for services to drama and to charity.

She first shot to fame after portraying easy-going Lol Jenkins in This Is England. The role won her critical acclaim and several award nominations and wins – including from the Royal Television Society and BAFTA. During her acceptance speech, she said: "To be awarded a Doctor of Letters at the University of Nottingham, just ten minutes from my house, the place where Our Dementia Choir was formed, among so much esteemed intellect, creative minds and excellence in your fields, this is for sure my personally proudest day to date. "I didn't get many GCSEs, I'm not the quickest reader but I love people, they give me purpose, this doctorate gives me purpose and if there is any advice I can give to you all today. . .
