Today marks World Lung Cancer Day.Each year, August 1 is dedicated to raising awareness about lung cancer – promoting education about the causes and treatments, and advocating for better patient care and support.Lung cancer remains one of the most common and deadliest forms of cancer worldwide, with a high mortality rate primarily because it is often diagnosed at an advanced stage.
So in a bid to tackle this issue, it's important to familiarise yourself with warning signs.One of the ways to do this is the five second 'diamond test', which can help detect lung cancer.
The test can be done at home, and is also known as the Schamroth window test, or window gap test.A woman called Ashley, 35, was diagnosed with lung cancer last year despite never being a smoker.
She has since been using her TikTok page to spread awareness on warning signs to look out for – and the diamond test is one of them.Ashley explained that both herself, and her friend Aurora, both experienced the symptom finger clubbing.
