On an overcast Friday lunchtime, one unit on the corner of Chester Road in Stretford is filled with young creatives, families, and couples with dogs for the first time in more than five months.
The former Stretford Food Hall base, situated just by the entrance of Stretford Mall, has just this week been reopened under the ownership of Bakehouse32 - already a popular name in the local community.
Having started life as a New York-style pizzeria and bar a little further down the road during the pandemic in 2020, it was announced earlier this year that the venue would be relocating to a large premises in order to meet popular demand.
So when bosses at Stretford Food Hall made the heart-breaking announcement in February that they would be closing after five years, it all seemed to fit into place for Bakehouse32’s owner David Donovan-Brown.
