Willie Harvey says the enormity of the Scottish Junior Cup final will hit his Rutherglen Glencairn squad in the next week or so.Harvey says they’re coming to the end of a long West of Scotland League First Division season when they host Kilbirnie Ladeside on Saturday in their final game.But having the cup final to look forward to is giving the whole club a huge boost, as is the fact that their ticket allocation for the final at Broadwood on Friday, June 2, sold out very quickly.Harvey says Saturday’s line-up will be selected very much with an eye on that, and while he is close to his team for the final, there are places up for grabs.He said: “I would think I would be very close to my team.

I have a good idea of who I’m going to be playing and in what formation – I would be lying if I said otherwise.“It’s one of the biggest games in the club’s history.

When we qualified for it, it seemed like it was so long away, but it’s a week and a half away, now.“On Tuesday night we’re going to Broadwood to train on the park – that’s going to bring it home, and the players will realise what it’s all about.“People are starting to realise how close it is, players have been buying up their allocation of tickets for the final, and everybody’s looking forward to it.“Everybody’s going to want to play in it, but the unfortunate thing is that everybody can’t play in it.”Harvey says the backing of the people of Rutherglen has given him and the club a real lift as they prepare for their showdown with Cumnock.He said: “We sold out our allocation very quickly and that has been really uplifting.
