Carrie Fisher’s ‘magical’ final film gets release date 7 years after death

While a trailer has yet to be released, the film’s official synopsis reads: “A coming-of-age fairy tale set between modern-day Italy and an imaginary realm just beyond, ‘Wonderwell’ follows Violet [played by Kiera Milward], a naive and inquisitive 12-year-old girl on a thrilling journey that transforms her world forever.”Director Vlad Marsavin told the outlet that the film took seven years to come together due to Fisher’s unexpected death, the COVID-19 pandemic and visual effects challenges after the shoot that stretched the budget. “Now is the perfect time to share [Fisher’s] magical on-screen moments as Hazel,” Marsavin told Deadline.“Carrie was full of energy during filming and even celebrated her 60th birthday with us in Italy where we shot the movie,” he continued.
