Suspected drug-dealers drove a car 'directly' at police officers in pursuit before mounting a pavement to avoid a head-on smash, GMP revealed today.

Two men have been arrested and the force revealed a 'large amount' of cash and several mobile phones were later seized from the Mazda hatchback.

Both men were held on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, dangerous driving and possessing criminal property.

They have been released on bail pending further investigations. Police today thanked a member of the public who tipped off officers about the men and the car.
