S Club abandon tour show as arena is evacuated during rescheduled performance

S Club were forced to abandon a tour show during their performance in Liverpool on Monday, 30 October. A video posted to Twitter showed the house lights on in the M&S Bank Arena, with fans leaving their seats.The singers have been touring the UK in a comeback spectacular, with tonight's performance being a rescheduled show from Friday, 13 October.

It was previously cancelled due to 'unforeseen circumstances' which were later revealed to be a fire that knocked out electrics at the arena.

On that occasion, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, Tina Barrett, and Jon Lee said they were unable to take to the stage in Merseyside due to the venue confirming a 'technical issue.' In a statement, they said at the time: "Due to an unforeseen technical issue that is beyond our control and impacting the power supply, we have sadly been forced to take the decision - with the event promoter - to postpone tonight's performance by S Club.This time, fans of the band were quick to take to social media to share their disappointment at the evacuation.

Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, one person wrote: "S Club really aren’t having much luck at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, show evacuated tonight after a reported fire during the concert." While another penned: "First S Club had to reschedule Liverpool because of a technical fault at the arena.Tonight, during S Club’s show at the arena on Liverpool, they had to evacuate because of a fire alarm.They’re so never playing Liverpool again!" This fan shared a video of the moment the arena plunged into darkness and wrote: "There ain’t no party when there is a fire.
