Barry Robson reckons Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate are following in the footsteps of Shunsuke Nakamura by setting the standard at Celtic.
The Aberdeen manager was at Parkhead in the early 2000s when trail-blazing Nakamura was one of the first Japanese stars to shine in Scotland.
Robson rated Nakamura as the ultimate player when it comes to bravery on the ball. He had four success-filled seasons at Celtic Park before moving on to Espanyol.
They both played in Gordon Strachan’s side and the message was clear – win the ball and give it to Naka. Celtic returned down that familiar road under Ange Postecoglou when he brought in Kyogo then added Maeda, Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi, Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi.
