Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Brendan Rodgers has been told to hunt for a new striker and a midfielder enforcer for his upcoming Champions League campaign at Celtic.The Irishman has European progress high up on his Parkhead to-do list after returning to the helm for a second spell, on top of continued domestic dominance.

Celtic have made five signings so far this summer and Gustaf Lagerbielke is poised to make it six as reports claim he's jetted in to complete a move from Elfsborg.

There have also been firm links with Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser.According to former boss Neil Lennon, Rodgers still needs a back-up to Kyogo as to be prepared if the Japanese striker is ever injured.

And a midfielder similar to the tough-tackling Victor Wanyama he worked with in Glasgow has also been pinpointed as a European necessity.
