A flower expert has revealed the secret meaning behind the choice of camellias in Queen Camilla's recent appearance at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
During their visit to the renowned Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, the King and Queen shared a touching moment as they explored a garden inspired by the character Penelope Featherington from the Netflix series Bridgerton.
In a significant gesture, Queen Camilla presented a bouquet of camellias to children from Sulivan Primary School in London, who contributed to the garden's design.
According to Elise Harlock, brand manager at Prestige Flowers, this choice of flower holds a deeper meaning beyond its beauty. "Camellias traditionally symbolise admiration, affection, and gratitude,” she said. "By selecting camellias, Queen Camilla likely aimed to express profound appreciation for the children's creativity and dedication." The presence of camellias carries added significance given the recent health struggles of the King and the Princess of Wales, who are both undergoing treatment for cancer.
