The husband of Princess Diana's older sister Lady Jane Fellowes, Lord Robert leaves behind a legacy as both a family man and a senior courtier. The couple had been married for over four decades, sharing three children: Laura, Alexander, and Eleanor.Lord Fellowes wasn't just part of the Royal Family through marriage; he played a significant role within the royal household.

As the Queen's private secretary during some of the most trying times in the 1990s, his tenacity was proven when tragedy struck with Diana's untimely death in 1997.

Lord Fellowes was among the close advisors who helped navigate the monarchy through the crisis and is credited by The Times, which published his obituary, with contributing to the speech delivered by Elizabeth II before Diana's funeral, reports the Mirror.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
