Police and ambulance scramble to address for 'medical emergency' after rumours of stabbing quashed

Police and paramedics scrambled to a residential road to respond to a medical emergency. Emergency workers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) arrived on Gaskell Street this afternoon.

Images from Manchester Evening News photographers show police tape and a cop van in attendance. However, that cordon was not in place to protect evidence, GMP has now confirmed.

It also added that rumours on social media of a ‘stabbing’ were untrue. There is a scene in place just to give the emergency services some space, rather than for it to preserve the scene.” Earlier in the day, rumours on social media speculated that a woman had been attacked.
