A 12-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was hit by a car in Sheffield. Police discovered a seriously injured woman in her 60s in the Greenhill area of the city at around 7.10pm on Wednesday evening, South Yorkshire Police said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Yorkshire Ambulance Service and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.
The 12-year-old was found by officers shortly afterwards and arrested on suspicion of murder as well as suspected possession of a knife. A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "Officers attended alongside Yorkshire Ambulance Service, and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, to find a woman in her 60s suffering serious injuries.
