In what could be her most honest interview yet, singer Perrie Edwards opened up about the "terrifying" experience of going solo and gave an insight into her relationship with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Perrie - who was a member of iconic girlband Little Mix - has recently gone solo and has released hit song Forget About Us followed by her second tuna Tears.

However, during an interview on Radio 2 the star let slip about her 'tactics'. Host Romesh Ranganathan mentioned to Perrie that she'd shared in previous chats that she'd penned music about her other half and, when asked if she'd checked with Alex about writing music about him, the star - who got engaged to footballer Alex in June 2022 - replied laughing: "No, I just did it." Perrie - who is mum to son Axel - joked: "It's almost like a 'Do it and then apologise later' sort of tactic that I went for.

But I've written so much about him, he is definitely a big inspiration for me.There's songs about being in love and how great he makes me feel. Then there's the other side of it where I'm like 'There's times he really drives me crazy." In the same interview the 31 year old - who rose to fame with other Little Mix members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson on The X Factor in 2011 - explained the process of going solo as "terrifying", she said: "When you're in a band you know what works - we had a pattern and knew what would work and what our fans would want. "But when you go solo, you're a brand new artist.
