Pep Guardiola thinks his side need to raise their game if they are to beat Arsenal and Real Madrid. Manchester City picked up an impressive 4-1 win over Bayern Munich in the quarter-final of the Champions League to book a rematch with Real, beating the Bundesliga champions 3-0 at home before seeing the tie out with a 1-1 draw.

That moves them closer to an historic Treble, even if formidable opponents still stand in their way. The Blues continued their momentum by beating Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final to make it 16 games unbeaten and head into their match with Arsenal knowing they can take full control of the Premier League title race.

Despite their form and results, Guardiola insists that their performance over two legs against Bayern convinced him they need more if they are to keep winning and edging closer to their goals for the season. The 4-1 is fake," he said. "There was not that distance in both games to be 4-1. Sometimes you are good and you lose. Experience gives me the time to analyse a little better, not just for results but how my team performed. "I have the feeling that I don't know if the [performance in the] games against Bayern will be enough to win tomorrow or to get to the final of the Champions League.
