There has been no hangover from Manchester City's treble success last season, Pep Guardiola says, as the manager admitted he was fearful their levels could drop this term.
City are within two points of Premier League leaders Tottenham after 10 games, and can secure progress to the Champions League knockout stage with two games to spare this week.
Guardiola feared last season that motivation for a third-straight Premier League title may be an issue, and needed a mid-season reset to focus minds before going on to win the treble.
This year, there have been no such issues with mentality as City have begun their defence in steady form.
